arboretum is a site which hosts poetry and fiction often authored by marginalized writers. It was founded in February of 2020 as a way to offer publication to writers who face institutional and systemic rejection. arboretum is also an option for anti-industry writers who don't want to work with publications, teams, or individuals which go against their needs or ethics. The primary goals of this site are: to serve as a public collection of creative writing, build readership and financial support to adequately pay contributors, offer accessible resources about creating and self-publishing in anti-industry ways, provide collaboration opportunities for writers in need via Evergreen Press, and connect writers, readers, and micro-presses in ways which encourage digital and physical material support systems and networks.

Vin Tanner is presently the only editor, moderator, or curator of the arboretum site and press. They are a writer, poet, illustrator, and designer for print. It may be a one person show right now, but they hope to encourage more people to start and host their own websites and projects similar to this one. If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions you can contact them at either the site email or their personal one. Make sure to check out the FAQ, Submission Guidelines, and Press Details before emailing, as your question may have already been answered.
